I have a spreadsheet with a list that includes leads' linkedin URLs and emails already. Also, I have a clay table with people I am interested in. Is there a way to do vlookup so the emails automatically come into clay table?
We have a feature similar to VLOOKUP called "Lookup" that can help you import emails from your spreadsheet into your Clay table. Here's how you can do it: 1. Use our Google Sheets integration to connect your spreadsheet. 2. In your Clay table, add a new enrichment and select "Lookup Row" from Google Sheets. 3. Paste your spreadsheet URL and select the sheet containing your data. 4. Choose the column to look up (e.g., LinkedIn URL) and the value to search for. 5. Map the email column from your spreadsheet to your Clay table. This will automatically pull in emails when there's a match. You can set it to run automatically for new rows in your Clay table. If you need more detailed guidance, check our documentation on the Google Sheets integration.
what is "the value to search for" in this case?
The "value to search for" in the Lookup feature refers to the specific data in your Clay table that you want to match with your Google Sheets data. It's typically a unique identifier like a LinkedIn URL or email address that exists in both your Clay table and your spreadsheet. This value is used to find the corresponding row in your Google Sheet, allowing you to import the associated email into your Clay table. For example, if you're using LinkedIn URLs to match data: 1. In your Clay table, select the column containing LinkedIn URLs. 2. This LinkedIn URL becomes the "value to search for" in your Google Sheet. 3. The system will look for this URL in the specified column of your Google Sheet. 4. When a match is found, it can import the corresponding email from the sheet to your Clay table.
value to search for would be the common value in both sources i.e linkedin url of lead or maybe name of lead
