Yes, you can find people's emails using Apollo enrichment in Clay. To do this, you should use the “Enrich Person from Apollo” action after identifying people with the “Find People at Company” function. When you run the enrichment, the saved contact’s email address will be included in the response. If you only use the initial search without enrichment, you may see a placeholder email like [email_not_unlocked@domain.com](mailto:email%5Fnot%5Funlocked@domain.com) instead of the actual email address. Make sure to map the necessary columns and run the enrichment step to retrieve real email addresses.

Yes, using Apollo enrichment in Clay to find people's emails is subject to Apollo’s API limits. These limits are determined by your Apollo subscription plan and restrict the number of enrichment requests you can make within a given period. If you reach your API limit, you may receive errors and be unable to process additional enrichments until your quota resets or you upgrade your plan. To manage this, consider processing data in smaller batches (e.g., 200 rows at a time) to stay within your limits and control which records are enriched. If you need further help, you can request human assistance by clicking on "Talk to a person."

Export them out with ExportApollo or an Apify scraper and fill in the gaps with an email waterfall in Clay

To export emails from Apollo, you can use tools like ExportApollo or an Apify scraper to collect available contact data into a file or table. Once you have this exported data, import it into Clay. For any missing emails, use Clay’s email waterfall enrichment: 1. Click “Add enrichment” in your Clay table and search for “Work Email.” 2. Set up the waterfall to try multiple providers in sequence, maximizing your chances of finding missing emails. 3. Map the necessary input columns (like company domain, name, or social profile URLs). 4. Choose your preferred email validation provider (ZeroBounce is the default). 5. Run the enrichment—Clay will attempt to fill in gaps by querying each provider until an email is found or all options are exhausted. This approach helps you combine exported Apollo data with Clay’s enrichment to achieve more complete email coverage.

I did the Find person enrichment in Clay but when I enrich them there it is still email_not_unlocked@domain.com

You see [email_not_unlocked@domain.com](mailto:email_not_unlocked@domain.com) after running the Find Person enrichment in Clay because Apollo now requires a separate step to unlock actual email addresses. The “Find People at Company” enrichment only identifies people, but does not provide their real emails. To retrieve actual email addresses, you need to use the “Enrich Person from Apollo” action on the identified contacts. Make sure to map all necessary columns (excluding the email column) and run this enrichment in a new table. After this step, the real email addresses will be included in the results. Note that you are still subject to Apollo’s API limits when performing these enrichments.
