Email is the recommended unique identifier for looking up contacts in HubSpot. When using Clay's HubSpot integration:
1. Navigate to the CRM integrations section in the Enrichment Panel
2. Select "Lookup Contact" for HubSpot
3. Use email as your primary lookup field (since contact ID isn't typically available)
While you can also try looking up by full name, this is less reliable due to potential duplicate names across different companies.
Both email and record ID (Contact ID) are effective unique identifiers for HubSpot lookups in Clay:
1. Contact ID is ideal if available, as it's the most precise identifier
2. Email is recommended when Contact ID isn't available (which is common)
When using Clay's HubSpot integration, you can use either field in the "Lookup Contact" action. The integration accepts both as input parameters.
