There's a pretty frustrating bug I'm seeing — I put together a detailed prompt. When I click run, it runs off a super shortened version of the prompt without any of the variables I put in. Here's a video of it.
This issue typically occurs when the AI enrichment runs before all your data is properly updated. Here's how to fix it: 1. Re-update your data first to ensure all variables are present. 2. To prevent this from happening in future runs: • Open the Prompt Editor • Find the fields containing your variables • Enable the "Required to Run" toggle for these fields • Save your prompt configurationThis setting will ensure the AI only runs when all necessary variables contain data, giving you better control over the process. If you're manually uploading data, make sure to filter out any rows with empty values before exporting. Source: Referencing dynamic data from other columns | Documentation | Clay University

Looks like you're still looking for help. If you’re dealing with a specific table, drop the URL below so we can help you quicker. Otherwise, someone from our team will be in touch soon!
Also worth noting that we're about to switch over to a fairly sizable paid plan (in case this is lower priority for you all)
Hey Henry! Really sorry about this frustrating bug. I took a look, and it seems like the issue is how the values are linked. Instead of using {{value}}, you'll need to use the forward slash ( / ) to select the values properly in Clay. Also, since you already have the entire email set up in your table, it might be more efficient (and cost-effective) to use the Message Generator. You can find it on the right side of the table: ➡️ Add Column > Message This lets you add conditionals, AI snippets, and more. I've also recorded a video showing you more about the AI Action, the formula, and how to put your email into place using Claude the way you'd like. Feel free to check it here: https://cln.sh/RGrZszP5 Let me know if that helps!
The {{value}} was just to give the prompt guidelines. I used the forward slash for the actual data inputs. Please see the video I sent over
Hey Henry! Ok, I now see what you're referring to - the prompt you saved isn't the same one showing up when you re-open the column, right? I'm sorry to let you know that it's a bug, but the good news is that our team is actively working on it. I've added your ticket to the thread, and we'll keep you updated as we make progress. In the meantime, here's a temporary workaround: * Try a hard refresh (Cmd + Shift + R) * If that doesn't fix it, re-set the last column selector before saving a new enrichment. * If that still doesn't work, duplicate the enrichment and add the value again. Let me know if you get it to work. Sorry again.
Ok sounds good. I've already tried hard refreshing it. I've tried all of these things
What's the ETA on this? Will be needing to use this prompt sometime today
Hi Henry, thanks for reaching out! We're looking into this now. Our team is still investigating the issue and will be in touch as soon as we have more details. For added context, does this happen with any new prompt you set up or only with the existing one?
Looks like every new prompt
Could you attempt to clear your caches for me and then refresh your view to see if this solves the issue?
Ok this is working -- thanks a ton
Happy to help Henry!
Good news! Happy to report that we heard back from the team and this issue should be fixed. Try a quick refresh (Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + R) and let us know if the problem has been resolved on your end, or if you still have trouble. Thank you for your patience as we worked on it.
