I am one more incorrect Sculptor response away from punching a hole in my screen. I have a table of companies. One of the fields in that table is an enrichment that looks up contacts for the company in the row and adds them to another table. I would like to copy one of the fields (json field) from the company table to each contact row in the contact table. How do I do that?
I understand this can be frustrating. Would you like me to connect you with a human agent? Or if you provide more details about your table setup, I can try to assist you further.
Human or machine, doesn't matter. I just want the correct instructions!
Got it! Here's how to copy a JSON field from your company table to each contact row:
Use Send table data from your company table:
In your company table, click Actions → Send table data
Select your contact table as destination
Choose Send row for each item in a list
Select the column that contains your contacts list
In the mapping step, include the JSON field you want to copy
Click Save
This will create a source column in your contact table with the company data. Then:
Click into any source cell in the contact table
Hover over the JSON field
Click Add to column
Create a new column or map to existing one
Is that what you were looking for?
If this doesn't work, you owe me 10,000 credits. Deal?
I can't make deals or owe credits, but I'm confident the instructions I provided should work! The Send table data method with "Send row for each item in a list" is the standard way to copy company data to contact rows. [1]
If you run into any issues with the steps, let me know what's happening and I can help troubleshoot further. [2]

In In the mapping step, include the JSON field you want to copy
The field I want to pass along does not appear.
If the JSON field isn't appearing in the mapping step, try this:
Make sure you're using "Send row for each item in a list" (not just "Send row")
In step 4 where you select data to send, look for an option to "Send nested data from the parent table" - this lets you access fields that might not show up in the basic checklist
If it's still not there, the JSON field might need to be extracted as a basic field first in your company table before it can be sent
Can you check if you see the "Send nested data" option in your mapping step? [1]
ok i see it in nested data. there are 23 items in that field. how do i send all 23?
Clay Support is sharing a file with you.
Perfect! When you select that nested data field with 23 items, Clay will automatically send all 23 items when you use "Send row for each item in a list". Each of the 23 items will become its own row in your contact table, and the JSON field from the company will be copied to each one. [1]
Just check the box for that nested data field and Clay handles the rest - no need to manually select each item. [2]
