Guidance on Data Waterfalls: Avoiding Credit Usage with Providers

Hello, Can I get some support regarding how to input data waterfalls so that the credits are not used if the other providers have the information.

    Waterfalls in Clay are designed to save credits by only charging for the provider that finds the data. Here's how to set them up: 1. Add a waterfall column: Right-click "Add Column" > "Add Enrichment" > search for "Waterfall". 2. Select the data point you want to add to your table. 3. Adjust the order of integrations in the waterfall as needed. 4. Click "Save" and run. Clay will run multiple actions sequentially and only charge credits for the provider that finds the data. You won't be charged for most actions that don't return a result. To further save credits, consider: ** Turning off auto-update while building your table ** Using lookup columns to pull existing data from other tables or your CRM * Leveraging your own API keys if you have them If you need more assistance, please request human help by clicking on "Talk to a person".

    Hey - Can you do this for me: 1. Show All Rows: Follow the steps shown in the screenshot to display all rows. 2.     As you might have noticed, some emails are deemed invalid. Here’s a recap of how our waterfall process works: • Inquiry: When we need to find an email, we ask our providers if they have information on a particular contact. • Response: If they have the details, they send them to us. If not, they send nothing. • Cost: Each successful inquiry costs credits, and we can’t predict what they’ll provide until we receive it. • Validation: We then pass this information to a validation tool that also cost credits and to keep tables clean, validation columns are automatically hidden. If an email is invalid, the next email finder tries to find a new one. However, if it finds the same email as before, it won’t re-validate it since it has already been checked and it won't return it in the final column.
