Also, I am having an issue with Clay waterfall for validation. Doesn't seem to work past the first two. Please explain.

Hey Michael, just answered your question in a separate thread so I am closing this one to keep our communication in one place!
Hi Michael R.! This thread was recently closed by our Support team. If you have a moment, please share your feedback:
Hi Tanvi R. I don't see your answer to this question specifically? My waterfall isn't working corretly. How do I solve?
Heres the workbook. I want the other validations to run as well. https://app.clay.com/workspaces/360985/workbooks/wb_oRDxSYPMiDK3/tables/t_yfmdwoz9TWob/views/gv_zosmqmV6YGTk
Hey Michael, Thanks for sharing this! I took a look at your table, and the waterfall is functioning as expected based on the logic you’ve set up. Right now, it’s designed to run multiple validation actions only if no result is returned. Since the first two providers, Debounce and Neverbounce, successfully validated your emails, the rest of the waterfall didn’t run, which is why you’re seeing the “run condition not met” message. Here's more information on how waterfalls work: Tutorial Could you let me know more about your goal with this table? I’d be happy to help adjust the setup to achieve the outcome you’re looking for! 😊
Hi Tanvi, I think you looked after I deleted most of the records. Please take a look now. You'll see that it stops at Neverbounce, and doesn't go past it. While you're there, mind looking at the Debounce part of the waterfall too pls? I have an API for it, but it seems to say it'll cost me credits to use.
Hey Michael, could you clarify what you're looking to achieve with this waterfall? It seems like you might be looking for a different outcome then what you've set up. I made a quick video here clarifying why the validation providers after Neverbounce do not run due to the waterfall logic: Loom Additionally both Debounce and Neverbounce are using your API key. If you check the "Run info" in the column menu for both providers you will see they both show no credits were used! https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1220037778/4992a6049d24f27b2b8484d09ac3/CleanShot+2024-10-17+at+18_14_40%402x.png?expires=1729205100&signature=6ceaed0f1025f4b377da404d32ddce630ea3d9ea8bc873875f09ecf35d7765e7&req=dSIlFsl9moZYUfMW1HO4zXiRux9eXiUi4%2Bou3XTpO0Xh199LMuJiJ068H85B%0A92vQ%0A
Great thanks. I want them to validate if the first to don't give me an all clear to send
Tanvi R. hope that makes sense
Yep, thanks for the voice memo Michael! Here's an indepth explanation of how to achieve what you're looking for here: https://www.loom.com/share/c4ca3fec183f4419ba72ccdf224c531a?sid=84101635-ab40-40bf-802b-039fc6bc8383 Essentially, I would use the work email waterfall as this combines email validation with email finder providers. Additionally, shared a few tips on how to use conditional formulas and filtered views to save credits. Let me know if you have any other questions! 😊
Please take a look at the Zerobounce column. I've saved the forrmula as follows: Never run if "Validate Email (3) result" output contains the word "valid". Always run if it contains the word "invalid" or "catchall". The issue is it runs on the valid cell of the Neverbounce column. Even when the preview tells me it won't. This feels like it might be a bug.
Here's the result
If I can just get the zerobounce column working with the other two I'll be happy enough.
It seems like Neverbounce gives a result that prevents zerobounce from running. Also, 2k credits were used last night on my account, and I'm looking through the logs and can't find them. Mind showing me where they went?
One more question regarding validation. This is a noob one. How dangerous is it to have "safe to send" switched off? Gets alot more results in debounce, but riskier...
Hey there Michael thanks for reaching out, jumping in for Tanvi here. The thing about turning off the "safe to send" is that this means you are more likely to find catch all emails, which for some users is as good as wasting credits, as there is not guarantee the person you want to actually contact will ever know they received an email from you.
We haven't heard back from you in a bit, so we're going to go ahead and close things out here - feel free to let us know if you still need something!
