Is it possible to duplicate a set of columns to a different table? Context: Building a workflow/recipe, that is universal and I want to bring into other tables for other projects
Yes, you can transfer columns from one table to another using our Write to Table integration. Here's how:1. Click "Add Enrichment" in the top right corner 2. Search for and select "Write to Table" 3. Choose your destination table 4. Use Column Mapping to transfer specific columns from your source table to the destination tableThis method lets you copy specific columns between tables while maintaining data alignment and consistency. It's particularly useful for simplifying workflows and reducing manual data entry across tables. You can also enable auto-update to automatically enrich new rows as they're added, making your workflow more efficient. Is that going to transfer the data/records, or just the actual columns and the AI prompts I used? I want the second
Yes, when you duplicate a table in Clay, it automatically copies only the header structure without transferring the data. Here's how to duplicate a table:1. Open your table 2. Click the "..." to the right of your table name 3. Click "Duplicate"Alternatively, you can share the table as a template, which will share the table structure with only one row of data. This is useful for collaborating and sharing workflows:1. Click the "Actions" button 2. Select "Share as template" 3. Click "Turn on sharing" 4. You can then select which single row of data you want to include in the template Sources: Rename, Duplicate, Delete, Edit Description of Table Share table as a template
I don't want to duplicate the table
I want to import a handful of columns from one table, to another exsitng table
To duplicate just the column structure without the data, you can follow these steps:1. Open your source table 2. Click the "..." menu to the right of your table name 3. Click "Duplicate"When you duplicate a table, only the header structure will be copied - the data itself won't be transferred automatically. This will give you a new table with the same column structure but without any data, allowing you to start fresh with your desired records. Duplicating the table creates a brand new table. That's not what I'm after. Write to table isn't it either, I don't think, can you find a human to help me
Hey there Alexander thanks for reaching out, at the moment there is no way to create a recipe like this in Clay although this is something that has been brought up by the team before and they are looking into it, however there is no ETA on when this could be added.
