Improving Your Formula to Extract Only Company Website Links

·
·

Hello team, I would like to enrich companies and find their website. I have been using this formula but it is not giving only the link of the website and sometimes the answer would be “The website of “X company” is x. com”. This is the formula: Visit the website of {{site}} and search for the website of the company listed on the Clutch page. The output should not be empty. The output should not contain clutch.co, google.com, shopify.com, crunchbase.com, instagram.com, or linktr.ee. Do you have any tips on how can I improve this formula so it only gives me the link of the website? Thank you very much

Hey! 😊 Just to clarify, you’re using a formula to try and find company websites, right? Here’s the thing: formulasdon’t have direct access to the web, so they aren’t the best tool for this. Instead, I recommend using Claygent—which acts as an AI web browser and can provide you with the correct website link. Another option is to use a scraping tool to directly extract the website from the page. Check out this guide on web scraping for more info: Intro to Web Scraping. If you send me the table URL, I’d be happy to dive deeper and help you find the best approach! 👍

Yes, I am trying to find company websites. So if I can use claygent in that case, could it be useful using clay if I want to find the lead linkedin URL of some contacts?

Hey Carla, you can also find contacts at companies using Claygent or through our find people search which will return LinkedIn urls. Here's a tutorial on how to use our find people search. I'd also recommend checking out this Claygent tutorial! Additionally, to improve your formula for Claygent I'd recommend giving more specific parameters on what the output should look like. For example, you could add at the end "Only return the website url and nothing else. My job depends on this!" to add clarity and urgent context for the LLM to search thoroughly. If you need more help with prompts, try playing around with thisGPT assistant for Claygent prompts - it's a great starting place!

I have watched the tutorials but I still have a question. For example, I have a list of contacts but in this list I don’t have all the linkedin URL of people and I want to find the linkedin URL for those who don’t have it to continue enriching data, how can I find it?

Also, if I have the ID from linkedin of a contact but I don’t have the name or any other information, can I find the names of this contacts? I have tried with find and enrich a person from google search but no results.
