Hi! Still fully orienting myself in Clay- have a question that I imagine is easily solvable. I have a list of Companies (enriched with LinkediN URLs, Domains, etc.) and a trying to find contacts (Founders, C-Suite primarily) for all of these companies. When I run a find people search, I find contacts for roughly half these companies. But, I can't easily tell which companies I couldn't find contacts at. If I had this list, I imagine then I could try a different enrichment/recipe to find contacts... basically, I'm trying to find best way to waterfall a contact search for a list of companies.
๐ Hey there! Our support team has got your message - we'll be back in touch soon. If you haven't already, please include the URL of your table in this thread so that we can help you as quickly as possible!
Hi Nathan, thanks for reaching out. The "find people" function is typically the most efficient way to locate individuals. I suggest you try loosening the parameters in your people search to make them less strict, which will increase your chances of finding the right people. Also, please send over the people search parameters so I can have a look at them and maybe suggest things!
Thanks Stefano! I am using a loose People search only sorting on Founder, C-Suite... I guess, my primary question, is there an easy way to determine which Companies from my list the "Find People" function did not find contacts for?
There isn't a simple way to do this, but you could use a "Lookup" function in your company table. Essentially, you can check if a company domain exists in the other table. If any results are empty, that means no match was found, so no employees working for that company were found. Let me know if you need help setting that up!
That is helpful- thank you. This seems like a good feature to have. Could handle these companies that return no people data as "errored" or "null" but at least keep them as a row in the new Table so they I try to enrich this contact data by other means, either via enrichment recipe or even manually finding contacts at the missing company. It will allow me to ensure completeness of the dataset throughout
I then Thanks for this! We're always looking to make the product better and this feedback is super helpful for us. We're going to pass this over to our product team so they can better evaluate things and see if/where this might fit into the roadmap as a future improvement.
