Using Clay to Clean and Import Lead Lists for Outbound Campaigns

Hi everyone! I have two separate lead lists of around 5.000 and 7.000 leads respectively that I want to run with the custom prompts that I’ve made in clay before adding them to my outbound campaigns. I have run the 10 first rows but I wanted to hear if you can clean your lead lists within clay somehow or if it’s better to do manually and then importing the CSV files and run the prompts? I have verified all the emails on all the leads already but some of the first names, last names and other info is not clean eg. abbreviated last names. Essentially, it’s to not run 12.000 rows in clay and then after the export find out that 10% have missing information. Hope my question makes sense. Thanks!

    Hi Ian, thanks for getting in touch! Clay has some interesting features to clean data, like normalizing company names or applying formulas to capitalize or remove any character or emoji, I recommned you to clean the csv as much as possible and them import it to clay and use this kind of features, at the end you can always even use AI to clean your data, but this will cost credits.
