For some reason within Merge Column types it doesn't remember your AI prompt.
Hey there! Could you help me understand what's happening when you duplicate the column? A quick Loom video showing the issue would be really helpful for me to better assist you. - Happy Wednesdayπ
Hey there - just wanted to check in here to see if you needed anything else! Feel free to reply back here if you do.
We haven't heard back from you in a bit, so we're going to go ahead and close things out here - feel free to let us know if you still need something!
Hey Tyler! Thanks for reaching out. We've escalated this to the team to investigate and will get back as soon as we have an update. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Hey Tyler! Thanks for your patience. The Engineering team confirmed that merge columns currently can't save AI formula prompts. However, we've submitted this as a feature request and will keep you updated on any progress. In the meantime, a workaround is to create a merge formula in a formula column. This works similarly to a merge column, but with one key difference: the prompt will be saved since itβs not a merge column. I made a quick recording showing an example below. Let me know if this helps! https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1275969852/a547ee984b8df2b487712911b8e7/CleanShot+2024-12-04+at+10_09_37.gif?expires=1733305500&signature=d3ec1f6e9bc080b46d18370b936366d3e516531a0958b86cf45143e37cb2fab4&req=dSIgE8B4lIlaW%2FMW1HO4zXZHuhEdPF8U%2BvFaQ4dlPdo9j%2F8oxYA0EjyRMdcC%0AK%2Fu6%0A
Thanks! This is a good alternative but doesn't really work well if you're using a lot of unique formulas. When all the formulas for the merge fields are combined into a single text column formula it overwhelms the AI formula generator and doesn't function well. Submitting a feature request works for me. My project is working ok as it is right now, was just passing along helpful upgrades.
