Feedback on New Folder UI: Request to Restore Old Layout

can we all agree that the new folder UI is terrible. Why cannot unfold the folders directly in teh central overview anymore? this way i have to enter a folder first and see what's inside. It costs me loading time and a lot of clicking back and forth. Please bring the old folders back. it's TERRIBLE. I know Nefaur K. I know you're working on this and performance considerations went into this but this backfired because we're not LESS productive not more I'd rather wait half a second to load the content of a folder than clicking 10 times into folders etc. PLEASE bring it back.

We understand your concern about the new folder UI. Currently, our system doesn't support unfolding folders directly in the central overview. To view the contents of a folder, you need to enter it first. We're continuously working on improving our user experience based on feedback like yours. While we can't bring back the old folder functionality at this moment, we appreciate your input as it helps us understand how our users interact with the platform. To create or access folders in the current UI: 1. Open your workspace 2. Click "Create New" > "Folder" to make a new folder 3. Enter a folder name and click "Create" 4. To view contents, click on the folder to enter it Have you tried using any specific features or shortcuts to navigate between folders more efficiently?

Hey Lanny! Thanks for writing in and sharing feedback, definitely get how frustrating it is when things change and feel slower as a result. We have some improvements queued up, but if you're seeing things loading slower that's not great — will DM you and we can dive deeper!

already gave you my feedback Nefaur, but just wanted to underline again how terrible it is. I dont find anything anymore and need to click wildly around until i get structure into our structured workspace and it looks absolutely unprofessional in front of customers (who could be your customers too)

Thanks for taking the time to chat w/ us Dom M.! We're working on the sorting issues that was causing views to not be sorted by folder, then alphabetically by name by default — we're hoping this will make it easier to organize stuff by prefixing folder/file names. The reason we moved away from a tree view is twofold:
1.
Performance (this way of rendering the filesystem helps with incremental loading and reducing the overall time it takes to load each folder)
2.
In the tree view it was ambiguous which folder a file would be created in when you created a new folder/file (which ended up meaning that most people would create files at the top level, which made it harder to organize files properly)

Got to second this suggestion, the lack of consistent folder hierarchy view has created a total mess in our previously organised workspace, team members are spending much longer finding their work, and have stopped organising their tables in ways that are very important for our management of the system, ensuring we stay under workspace data limits and remove lists intentionally. Has been bugging us for a while but reached a boiling point of frustration today. it's really intolerable.
