How to Access the Edit Source View After Updating a Table

Β·

Hi folks, When i create a new table from a data source e.g. HG Insights, it then shows a way to edit the source and update. But once I do this how do I get this edit source view back up? Thanks!

Hi JT, The first column ( from the left) will have this option. Click on column title and you see an option called "Source", if you select that you will the same option that you showed in the image.

Sadly in this table I couldnt get this to work - it only offers a way to add new technologies from HG Insights? And if I click this everything is blank. Mark L.

I managed to get this working but I am not understanding how the editing of the source effects my credits. I seem to have blown through about 7k credits by adding about 100 more companies by expanding my criteria. I chose 1 max product per company and in my table I am now seeing 378 rows. I had about 7k credits before adding maybe 70 more companies. So how did I end up losing circa 4k credits for this when it cost 8 credits per record?

Example of the credits issue here: https://www.loom.com/share/fd356f6456944c5aa80eb08db01d9fc0 After editing the filters for the HG insights data source, I increased from 77 rows / accounts to 93 rows / accounts, which is 16 new accounts. 16 accounts x 8 credits charged per account = 128 credits. However my credits dropped from 4645 to 3900 credits after this update. So 16 new accounts added cost me 745 credits, which is 46 credits per account added.

Hey James! You're right - this looks off. I've flagged this to our engineering team to investigate the unexpected credit consumption I've added credits to your account while we diagnose the issue. We'll update you as soon as we have more info about what's causing this discrepancy. I do see that you also have other tables from HG Insights. Curious did this also happened in them Want me to check anything else while we wait?

That’s fine. I seem to have blown through maybe 10k credits since playing with this Hg insights API. Can you update my balance?

Done! βœ… Let me know if you notice it. I've added the first 750 and now I added 9300

Thank you. Hopefully you can find a fix / cause.

Hey James - I checked with the team, and right now, HG Insights has a limitation where editing a source actually triggers a brand-new search instead of modifying the existing one. Because of that, the best approach is to add a new source instead of editing it. That can be done by clicking on the + sign (see screenshot) If you're looking for more of the same type of results, you can fetch additional results. But if you want new results with different criteria, you should create a new source with your updated filters. Let me know if you need help setting that up! https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1363718675/de8b79edc9bdc3f1d82cd6cc65f7/CleanShot+2025-02-03+at+_09OXItsdhL%402x.png?expires=1738621800&signature=ac84b7ccf6ab942a2618802af9c7116dc75cfbe32fed6588a25b4e741ad0015f&req=dSMhFc5%2FlYdYXPMW1HO4zQbBiu6xx13zsWeSap78AYeuXQYACJYKtlpyI%2Ft1%0AB6ED%0A
