How do the model settings’ Temperature options translate to numbers? What number is “high”? Why not just show the actual numbers?
Michael, I believe this was just a UI decision to make it easier to interact with. Curious, do you often do decimal-level temperature tuning in your prompts?
Yes. I most often use 1 though. Would like to know if “High” is 1 or .8 or whatever.
Hey! Totally get it. Before I can give you the exact numbers, could you let me know which model you're using? The mapping between "High" and numerical values actually varies between different models. Once I know which one, I'll get you the precise temperature value so you can match your preferred settings.
Hey there - just wanted to check in here to see if you needed anything else! Feel free to reply back here if you do.
I’m using GPT 4o and Claude 3.5 Haiku. Thanks!
Hey Michael! I've asked our team about the specific mappings and will update you as soon as I hear back from them. Thanks for bringing this up!

We haven't heard back from you in a bit, so we're going to go ahead and close things out here - feel free to let us know if you still need something!
Thanks! We've reopened this thread. You can continue to add more detail directly in this thread.
Hey there - I noticed you just reopened the ticket, Is there anything we can do for you?
Yes I’d like to know how “High” etc. map to temperature number
You're absolutely right. Let me check again. Very sorry for this auto-close, Michael. I just followed up with the team again!
