Proposed Solution: Default to No AI Option for Cost Control

When I add an AI enrichment column it often defaults to GPT 4o rather than a cheaper alternative such as GPT 4o mini. This has sometimes meant I accrue large API costs if I forget to change it over. This is something that didnt happen before so unsure if this was a recent change. I'm wondering if it can by default not select anything and force the user to choose one of the options so that this issue does not come up again.

Thanks for this feedback, Seb. Typically the defaults are put into place matching what we see as highest value/highest usage. I take your point, though. I'm curious โ€“ would you see any value in setting a default model account-wide, or by user? Or perhaps defaulting the most-recently-used? There are a number of ways to approach this, so just wanted to see if any of those (or others) feel like the best way to make this smoother.

Appreciate you getting back. I think the best way would either be a setting somewhere where you can choose any of the above options. However, without a setting, as I said, I think it would be best for it to not select any models by default and force the user to make the selection each time. It only takes a few seconds but allows them to consciously decide which one they want to use so that they don't make any mistakes and rack up huge API or credit costs.

Thank you for indulging my curiosity! I appreciate that mindset of adding some guardrails โ€“ a chance to pause, take a breath, consider the options. I'll share this with our product/engineering folks!
