Discussion on Multi-Column Auto-Dedupe Function Plans

·

Hey Team, are there any plans to introduce a multi-column auto-dedupe function? Basically something similar to a composite unique index

Currently, we don't have information about plans for a multi-column auto-dedupe function. Our auto-dedupe feature allows you to dedupe a single column. Here's how it works: 1. Click the Auto-dedupe icon at the bottom right of your table. 2. Enable automatic deduplication. 3. Select a column to dedupe. 4. Click Save Changes. You can also dedupe via column by right-clicking a column, then selecting Dedupe > Delete Duplicate Row. If you need more advanced deduplication options, you might want to request human assistance for more detailed information or potential workarounds.

No, I'm looking for an auto-dedupe function on more than one column

João, I don't know of any immediate plans for this. One alternative would be to use a formula column to combine/concatenate values from other columns. And then de-dupe based on the formula column. For example, I might have columns for First Name, Last Name, and Birthday. If I want to de-dupe based on all three of those, I could use a formula column to create a "composite ID", so to speak. For example, a formula could combine values from the columns into, e.g. "JaneDoe1984" and "RobertSmith1962". You could then de-duped based on that combined value.
