Inheritance for Workbooks: Streamlining Updates with Core Workbooks

Β·
Β·

Is Clay team thinking about inheritance for workbooks? I'd like to have a core workbook that child workbooks inherent from. All the columns from the core workbook would be locked. This way, I can update the parent workbook once and all children get updated. Right now, using the dup workbook function. I have to manually update all workbooks.

Currently, we don't have a feature for workbook inheritance as you've described. Our workbooks feature, introduced in August 2024, allows users to manage multi-table campaigns in one place, organize multiple tables within a workbook, and visualize relationships across these tables. We're continuously working on improving our workbooks functionality. While we don't have specific plans for inheritance features at the moment, we're developing new capabilities such as the ability to duplicate workbooks while preserving relationships across tables. For now, you can use the duplicate workbook function, but we understand this requires manual updates across all workbooks. We appreciate your feedback on this potential feature. It helps us prioritize future developments. Is there a specific workflow or use case you're trying to address with this inheritance idea? This could help us better understand your needs.
