Streamlining Sales Prospecting with Clay: Seeking Feedback and Insights
Hi 👋 I’m working in sales for a small hospitality POS startup in the U.K. we are building traction in the events space in particular. We’ve built a compelling solution for a specific problem. I’m focusing more and more on biz dev and growth via partners and networking. But cold outbound still brings in 50% of our new sign ups - so can’t afford to not still be actioning this movement. However the real value is in the relationship building - not the initial outreach. A lot of these smaller outbound pitches end up opening doors in the medium term. I’m thinking to put Clay as the centre of our prospecting function. I’m not super familiar with these tools and my approach is a bit old school in terms of business development. We use Hubspot at the moment. Mostly for manual cold emailing. It would be very useful if we had a tool where when someone identifies a company in hubspot/linkedin/website and opts to prospect them - they answer some quick questions about its segmentation and similar ICPs. It will then push that company to clay - and find the relevant roles within their org. It then generates a drip feed cold email sequence with case studies and examples via something like lemlist. Whilst also setting tasks for follow up calls etc. Can I ask folks for their thoughts on my thinking? Is this relatively simple or v complex? How would you approach it and are there any difficulties I should be considering? I’m keen to learn these skills myself -but getting a bit confused with the tools. Too many options! Any suggestions? Also happy to hear folks thoughts on in-house vs agency vs consultancy?
