Tips for Creating a Filtered Account List in Clay

Β·

I am new to Clay and have been working my way thought Clay University. I was hoping for some tips about a specific prompt I want to create. I need have an account list created, but I want to filter them based on who they sell to. This is for a partnership motion, so I want software companies that sell to the same buyers that my company sell to. This includes Social media, marketing & communication, internal comms and employer branding teams. How would you tackle this and be sure to get reliable answers?

    1. 1.

Claygent to go through the product related pages on the website + dedicated persona pages to understand if they sell to the same persona. You could also just use one AI column to source the data and then another to see if based on the sourced data they sell to the target personas.

    2. 2.

You can also scrape the html of the website using zenrows and then feed that into an AI column to extract details about the product and persona and see if they sell to desired target segment.

You already have an account list but in case you didn't - using ocean or pandamatch to find lookalikes of companies that you would like to partner with would have been a great starting point too. So if you have say 20 companies that you have already identified as good potential partners then just find lookalikes of them.

Assume if you go with option 2, you neeed to do all of the accounts first before creating the column for the Ai to check the persona. I think I am trying to wrap my head around the chronology of it.

This is super helpful. I will give this a shot later this evening. The thing I am trying to get used to is the credits and not wasting them. So trying to get my list smaller. If you wanted to filter by revenue as well as ICP, which would you do first?

If you buy zenrows and plug in your api key it will be considerably cheaper. Same with using your OpenAI/Claude key instead of using credits for claygent. Um, depends on the context tbh. Most likely ICP.
