Quick question. I was running a waterfall enrichment and no competitor was found (maybe due to low TAM or the platform had more US based database). Are credits still supposed to be used in that case?

Good question. Yes credits still get consumed even if no competitors are found.
Clay charges for the lookup attempt itself not only when it returns data If the platform searches and comes back empty the credit is still counted.
For waterfall enrichments, it shouldn't consume any credits when no competitor is found. Waterfalls should only charge credits for the providers that found data, if not then credits will be refunded.
