Job Title Filter Malfunctioning in People Search Feature
🚨 The job title filter is completely broken in the people search feature. Results always include people with completely irrelevant titles.
By default, our Find People search uses smart matching that automatically includes similar job titles (e.g., "software engineer" will match with "SWE" and "software developer").If you're seeing irrelevant results, there are two ways to make your search more precise: 1. Enable the "Exact Keyword Match" option - this will only return results that exactly match your specified job title. 2. Use the exclusion filters to remove unwanted variations. For example, if you search for "Sales" but want to exclude operations roles, you can add "Ops" and "Operations" to the exclusion list.Keep in mind that without exact matching enabled, you'll need to be specific with your title variations since the search treats titles like "Revenue Operations", "RevOps", and "Rev Operations" as completely different titles. Jakob G.··That "smart matching" is obviously broken. E.g. "Medical Director" is in no way related to the titles entered.
Owen C.··Hey Jakob, thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear this wasn't working as anticipated. Do you mind sharing the URL to this people search? Would love to take a closer look. Our search by default will return related titles and in this case these titles may have been a bit of a stretch. Going to note this to our engineers who can take a look and see what happened. Related titles will appears unless the "Exact Keyword" match has been toggled on.
