Clay Table rows from an "Import objects from hubspot" based on a list of contacts are being actively removed on a page refresh or upon clicking "Show all rows". This has happened in several workbooks now, and it is really frustrating.
This issue typically occurs because Clay doesn't automatically reprocess previously generated data when changes are made to the source. When you refresh the page or click "Show all rows," the table isn't updating with the latest data from your HubSpot list. To fix this and ensure your HubSpot data stays current: 1. Re-run the import process using the "Update Now" option to pull in the most recent updates 2. Navigate to the Sources section (found in the column containing the data import) 3. Select the specific HubSpot source 4. Click "Update Now" to refresh your current table with the latest data This will ensure your table displays the most up-to-date information from your HubSpot contact list.
My clay tables watching my hubspot lists are out of sync. See this table "Master Database" in this workbook here: https://app.clay.com/workspaces/333994/workbooks/wb_5TYpzkk9iQ5x/tables/t_bu5QFXGfg5pn/views/gv_THSrEMk2USzu The list it is watching has around 2477 contacts and this list is 'up to date' but not 1-to-1
Hey George, Just to confirm—you’re expecting around 2,477 contacts in the table, but you’re only seeing 2,260, right? A couple quick checks: ** Did you delete any rows manually from this table? That could explain the mismatch. ** Have you noticed any specific contacts or patterns in the ones that are missing? Let me know and I can help dig in further.
Bo (. Hi Bo, Michael here. That's correct, the list is off by around 200 contacts. This master database has had rows manually removed. This table was initially watching another list, which contained around 5600 contacts. We didn't need to be using the first list it watched, and I reduced that first list by around 3000 contacts and took the original master database table and removed all contacts that weren't on the new list I made. I then updated the source in the master table to watch my desired list. Now my master table source says that it is up to date, but the count is off. The reason why I subtracted the 3000 unnecessary contacts from the original table and updated the source was to save the time and credit usage of running 2500 rows at the time of data that I already had. This would have cost at least 36000 credits if not more.
Hey Michael, Let’s try creating a new table and add your desired list directly to it. That should help reset any syncing issues Let me know once it’s set up or if you want a hand doing it.
Hey Bo (., I want to avoid doing that since it will rerun all of my rows with data that I already have. I found that even if I duplicate the table and import everything I already have from a csv, the rows that perform actions automatically run. Is there a way I can avoid this to initially populate the table and not rerun all of those rows?
Hi there, to avoid the enrichments from automatically running in the table when you upload the CSV file, you can turn off auto-update columns feature to only have the CSV data.
Let me know if I can help you with anything else :)
Hi, thanks for the quick reply. That makes perfect sense, so those rows just ran again because they had auto update on.. got it. Once I initially import everything back, if I turn auto-update on to perform as intended for future rows, will it just ignore the rows from the import?
Yes, here’s how auto-update columns work: if you have two columns-let’s say Column A and Column B-and Column B uses data from Column A, then any changes in Column A will automatically trigger Column B to update. This happens because Column B’s values depend on the data in Column A.
In your case, since the data from the CSV is being used in other columns, those dependent columns update automatically when the CSV data changes. That’s why you saw those columns run on their own.
I hope this helps clarify things!
It does, thank you Smit. How can I import the existing data, and then add the source of my hubspot list without duplicating the data in the table? When I import from a csv, none of the hubspot source fields import so then the data ultimately gets duplicated when I connect the hubspot source.
I’m not sure I fully understand what you’re trying to achieve or the specific issue you’re facing. Could you provide a bit more context about what your CSV data looks like, what your HubSpot data looks like, and why you want to combine them into one table? If it’s easier, feel free to share a quick screen recording to walk me through what you’re seeing. That would help me better understand your setup and provide more targeted help.
Sure, just looping back to the initial bug and reason for this post. My main table is synced to a hubspot list, however the amount of rows in the clay table does not equal the amount of contacts in my list. Even when I manually sync the source, it says that 2400+ contacts are found but it doesn't add the missing contacts to my table. If I duplicate the table and reconnect the source, it will re-run all of the enrichment columns causing the table to consume around 30000 credits of data I already have. If I duplicate the table and import the existing rows I have enriched, when I reconnect the source, it just duplicates the records. I simply want my main table in Clay to be fully synced up with my hubspot list.
I recorded a quick loom video, going over the fix. I hope this helps :)
Thank you very much Smit V. that's exactly what I was hoping to accomplish. This seems to be a perfect use case for auto dedupe, really appreciate your help!
Really glad that it worked!
