Update: Pausing New Clay Certification Submissions to Evolve the Program and Invite Community Feedback
Hey everyone! Big update: we're pressing pause on new certification submissions. I know that's a big and perhaps surprising announcement, so let me start with the most important thing. For the ~1000 of you who have earned a Clay cert: your certification stands. You built real tables, demonstrated real skill, and showed what this community is capable of. That doesn't change! So why the pause? Certifying people in a profession and platform that move as fast as GTM engineering means the certification itself has to keep evolving. And the more we've learned from watching this community grow, the more we can see what's possible for what certification and mastery can look like. We want to make sure the program reflects that. And as we evolve the program, we want to learn from you! Who you are, what you're building, how certification has shown up in your work and your careers. You're the foundation we're building on. On a personal note: this program has been one of the most meaningful things I've gotten to build at Clay. I'm moving into a new role building out Clay's VC + startup ecosystem, and Aly S., our new edu team member fully dedicated to certifications, is leading this work going forward. She's already deep in it and I promise that you all are in amazing hands! A few practical notes:
Were you working on a submission? Hold tight. Your work isn't wasted, and you'll be first to know when we reopen.
Have partner tier requirements tied to certs? Reach out to Aly or Yash directly. No one gets stuck in the transition

We don't have a specific timeline yet, but we'll keep you posted right here as things develop. And if you have any thoughts on what Clay Certified should mean going forward, please, please DM Aly S.. Sheβd love to hear from you. Thank you for being part of this and I'm so excited to see where certs goes! π
