Oof yeah the Instantly domain situation is exactly why I always say - own your domains separately. Namecheap or Porkbun, never through the sending tool. Classic lesson. Setup is pretty straightforward once you own them - connect to Google Workspace or M365, configure SPF DKIM DMARC, then plug into whatever sequencer you go with. Keeps everything portable. On the Instantly domains - have you actually tried to transfer them? Most domains are transferable after 60 days, might just be inconvenient rather than actually locked.

Hey Stephanie, Smartlead is where most people land after Instantly - better control over deliverability and less of that blast-everything feel. Worth trying. For warmup I'd honestly keep it separate from whatever sequencer you pick - Mailreach works well as a standalone.

Hey Mark R., Yes but not exactly like RingLead - Clay finds and preps the duplicates (normalizes fields, groups likely dupes, builds a golden record), but the actual merge still runs in Salesforce. So Clay does the smart detection side and Salesforce handles the final merge. Two steps but it works!

This is the right way to think about it. The cheap ICP gate before the expensive enrichment is the part most people skip and then wonder why their credit costs are high. Gate early, enrich late.

Hey Dana, You're not missing anything - Clay's HubSpot sync pulls contact properties but list membership isn't exposed as a filterable field, which is why Segments can't see it. The workaround is to create a custom property in HubSpot (something like ad_audience with a yes/no value), then use a HubSpot workflow to set that property to yes for everyone in your list. Once it syncs to Clay you can filter on that property in Segments like any other field. Slightly annoying extra step but it works reliably and you can reuse the same property for future audiences.

Hey Liron! The issue is that Claygent pulls whatever it finds and funding history stays online forever, so an acquired company still shows its last round. Two things that help: Add a separate acquisition check as its own column - a simple Claygent prompt asking specifically whether the company has been acquired, gone public, or shut down. Run it as a filter before the funding enrichment so you're only enriching companies that are still independent. Also capture the funding date, not just the round. Anything older than 24-36 months is worth treating as stale regardless of what the round says. The combination of those two filters out most of the noise.
