Thanks for taking the time to chat w/ us Dom - Science and Automated AI Systems! We're working on the sorting issues that was causing views to not be sorted by folder, then alphabetically by name by default — we're hoping this will make it easier to organize stuff by prefixing folder/file names. The reason we moved away from a tree view is twofold:

Hey folks! Nefaur from the design team here 👋🏾 I appreciate y'all writing in and sharing feedback! Definitely get how it was a jarring experience to log in one day and not have your folders/files be in the same order you left them in 😕 One of the main considerations that went into this decision was performance (ie, improving loading/rendering times) — which is a big priority for us. That said, we understand that there are negative tradeoffs to this approach! So we'll be digging into a bit more to make sure y'all can easily find and navigate to what you need to.
