Daniel K. They emailed me this morning and bumped me up to Tier 2. 😀 They were actually really nice and even apologized: First off, we're very sorry for the delay in getting back to you. As we've scaled quickly, we have been working hard to catch up with all the interest and outreach from customers like you. We have bumped you up to Tier 2 based on your actual consumption level. You can verify this in the 'Limits' section of your account settings. In the future, you will automatically move to the next usage tier as your usage of the OpenAI API and your spending on our API increase - I think they just wanted to see some usage. I used gpt-40 mini for a couple small tasks on the table, for like $0.60 worth of usage.

I created an open ai account, paid, waited 7 days and it never went up to Tier 2. I tried to contact support, and got this reply: Hi there, Thank you for reaching out to us. Review Your Usage: If your current usage is close to your limits and you have a clear need for higher limits, this can be a factor in advancing to the next tier. If you believe your account should be considered for a higher Trust Tier based on your usage, needs, or other factors, you can directly request a review of your limits from the Usage Limits page in your account settings. There, you'll find an option to "Need help?" where you can submit a request for a higher limit. Our team will review your account's usage and history to determine if an adjustment can be made.
