Hey everyone ๐ Hoping to borrow some collective wisdom here, and happy to trade notes back. We run a phone enrichment waterfall in Clay for outbound (mobile and direct dials, B2B, fairly niche security/compliance titles). Coverage looks great on paper: we get a number back for roughly 9 out of 10 contacts. The problem is accuracy. When our SDRs actually dial, only about a quarter of those numbers turn out to be correct and reachable. We tested layering in another major provider and it moves us into the mid 30s. Better, but still not where we'd want to be, so before we just keep bolting on more providers I wanted to sanity check against real numbers from people who do this every day:
What accuracy are you actually seeing on mobile/direct dials from your waterfall (correct numbers as a share of numbers returned)? Ballpark is completely fine, I just want a reality check on whether ~25% is normal or whether we're the outlier.
How do you measure it? We're using SDR dial outcomes. Curious if you validate some other way.
Any structural lessons on the waterfall itself?
Any phone specialist providers you'd genuinely vouch for over general purpose ones?
Genuinely not looking to bash anyone's favorite vendor. My hunch is that we're doing something suboptimal in how we've set this up rather than the data being universally bad, and I'd much rather learn from how you've solved it than guess. P.S. not looking to hire someone, need advice and suggestions. Thanks so much ๐
