Is it possible to use AI to filter an existing table/workbook down to specific company types? For example, I have a list of construction-adjacent companies, but I am only interested in general contractors
Yes, you can use AI to filter and classify companies in your existing table. Use the Use AI feature by clicking "Add column" then "Use AI" and select "Content creation, manipulation." Create a custom prompt to classify companies as general contractors vs other construction types. AI can categorize companies into custom classifications like B2B vs B2C, industry segments, or specific business types. You can also use Claygent to analyze company information and segment records based on inferred traits or classify company types using custom AI categories.
Hey Paul, Thanks for reaching out to support! This is a perfect use case for AI Formulas. You can find it if you click add enrichments, under the tools section, it's called "use formula". You can run a formula on any column using our AI metaprompter. For your scenario, you might try something like: “Filter /[column name] and return Yes or No depending on whether the company qualifies as a general contractor.” Once that formula runs, you can easily filter your table to show only the rows that returned “Yes.” I’m also linking a quick video that walks through this process — highly recommend giving it a watch: 🔗 https://www.clay.com/university/lesson/ai-formulas-conditional-runs-clay-101 Let me know if that helps or if you'd like support getting it set up. Feel free to send over your table link if you'd like me to take a closer look! -Nicole
